PATERSON — A former Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission official has pleaded not guilty to official misconduct charges.
The Record newspaper reports that Kevin Keogh of Roseland was arraigned today in state Superior Court in Paterson. He is free on $75,000 bail.
Keogh was superintendent of special services for the PVSC. Prosecutors say he ordered employees to perform personal work for him on company time.
The 45-year-old Keogh was arrested earlier this month, along with two other former managers at the sewerage authority. All three were fired after their arrests.
Dozens of workers have been fired at the sewerage authority as the state investigates allegations of mismanagement, patronage and fraud.
The PVSC provides wastewater treatment service to 48 communities in northern New Jersey.
