OLD BRIDGE — An Old Bridge man faces charges of showing pornographic images to a 14-year-old boy and offering to pay the youth for sex.
Robert MacDonald, 62, was arrested Wednesday at his home in the Laurence Harbor section of the township and charged promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce Kaplan said in a joint statement with Old Bridge police Chief William Volkert.
Kaplan, in the statement, said the youth was at MacDonald's home when MacDonald show him the pornography and offered him money for a sexual favor. Kaplan did not say when the youth was in the house.
The boy declined the offer and left, and authorities were notified, the prosecutor said.
MacDonald is being held at the Middlesex County jail in North Brunswick on $50,000 bail.
