ANDOVER TWP — A Pennsylvania man who was one of five people arrested during a raid at a Sussex County go-go club last year has pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a handgun, the county prosecutor’s office said.
James Woodling, 25, of Stroudsburg, pleaded guilty to possession of a handgun without a permit, a second-degree crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
Woodling and four exotic dancers were arrested at Ray’s Inn in Andover Township shortly after midnight on March 6, 2009, during a raid by more than 20 state, county and Andover Township law enforcement officials. The dancers were arrested on cocaine distribution and prostitution charges while Woodling was arrested after a loaded handgun was found in his vehicle that was parked at the Route 206 club.
Following the raid, Ray’s Inn became a BYOB topless bar due to the number of criminal incidents at the club. The bar closed in April following the death of its longtime owner, Ray Cerasoli.
Woodling is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 10.
