Cops used a stun gun on Bradford Gibson trying to get him to leave a bar
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Police say a 36-year-old East Orange man who was found dead in a mid-Michigan jail cell over the weekend had been subdued by officers using a stun gun during his arrest.
Michigan State Police tell the Morning Sun a stun gun was used Saturday on Bradford Gibson by officers trying to get him to leave a bar in Mount Pleasant. An autopsy was conducted and investigators were awaiting a report about cause of death.
Police say Gibson was found unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse about 3 a.m. in a cell at the Isabella County Jail. He had been arrested about an hour earlier by police for being a disorderly person, resisting a police officer and aggravated assault on an officer.
State police are investigating.
