TOMS RIVER — Two men are accused of breaking into a New Jersey police chief's home and several others.
Tuesday's burglary at Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy's house was caught on surveillance video and the tape was used to identify the suspects.
The chief said he installed the cameras two weeks ago because of a rash of burglaries. Mastronardy said his home had been broken into before.
Twenty-five-year-old Justin Lovgren and 19-year-old Jesse Hamby, both of Beachwood, are charged with burglary.
Investigators told the Asbury Park press the suspects stole jewelry, cash and prescription medications from the homes.
