SCRANTON, Pa. — A attorney from Cherry Hill charged with punching his opposing counsel in a northeastern Pennsylvania courthouse has been sentenced to six months probation and 75 hours community service.
Police said 46-year-old Michael Rausch threw three roundhouse punches at Scranton attorney John Fisher at the Lackawanna County Courthouse in July.
The two had been on opposing sides of a civil lawsuit involving a 2003 car crash.
A judge on Thursday approved Rausch's request to be placed in a program that allows first-time offenders a chance to erase their arrest record.
Rausch told the judge he regretted his actions, which led him to resign from his law firm and sent his career into free-fall.
