HOWELL — Heavy traffic delays are expected in Howell tonight as friends, family and fellow police officers attend the wake for Christopher Matlosz, the Lakewood police officer who was shot to death last week.

The visitation will be held at the Lakewood Funeral Home located at 6250 Route 9 south in Howell from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. One lane of traffic on the highway is expected to be closed from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. between Lanes Mills Road and Alexander Avenue, according to APP.com.

Funeral arrangements are scheduled for noon Thursday at St. Mary of the Lake Church in Lakewood.

Matlosz, 27, was fatally shot Friday night in his police cruiser while conducting a routine patrol. His accused killer, Jahmell W. Crockam, 19, was arrested Sunday morning after a nearly 40-hour manhunt across three states. He made his first court appearance Tuesday and remains in custody in lieu of $5 million bail.
