HILLSBOROUGH — Somerset County authorities Thursday seized nearly $2,600 worth of drugs and arrested a man and a woman during a narcotics investigation, the prosecutor’s office announced today.

Acting on a tip, members of the Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force for the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and Hillsborough police said they watched Lance Chillemi, 23, of Bound Brook, pull up at the Central Jersey Airport in a blue Volvo about 6 p.m.

After questioning, Chillemi voluntarily turned over about 4 ounces of marijuana, and the driver of the car — Kelsey Vlachos, 21, of Bridgewater – turned over 20 ecstasy pills and three oxycodone pills, authorities said. Detectives also found a plastic bag with less than 50 grams of marijuana in the car.

Neither was booked on any flights, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Chillemi was charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute and possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana. Vlachos was charged with ecstasy possession with intent to distribute and possession of oxycodone.

Both were released on their own recognizance.
