ROXBURY — A former band instructor at Roxbury High School has been charged with repeatedly molesting one of his teenage, male students.
Russell Tybus, 27, of Hackettstown, was arrested on Thursday, according to an arrest affidavit from the prosecutor's office.
The victim, who was not identified, is now 20-years old.
On Wednesday, the victim told Roxbury police that Tybus touched his genitals multiple times between Sept. 2006 and Aug 2007, the affidavit said.
Tybus was an assistant drum line instructor for the marching band at the time.
The following day police recorded a phone call where Tybus allegedly admitted to the victim that they had a sexual relationship.
Tybus was charged with endangering the welfare of a child aggravated criminal sexual contact and criminal sexual contact.
He was taken to the Morris County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
