NEW YORK CITY — President Obama is planning to visit New York City today to thank law enforcement officials who responded to the Times Square bomb plot case, a report on NBC New York said.

Obama is expected to stop in Buffalo this morning at a factory to talk about the economy, according to the report. He will then travel to NYPD headquarters to speak to officers involved in the Time Square bomb plot investigation that led to the arrest of Faisal Shahzad.

He is also scheduled to be in the city later this evening for a Democratic fundraiser at the St. Regis Hotel, the report said.

Commuters should expect traffic delays in New York City related to Obama's visit.
