SOUTH PLAINFIELD — Police say a Plainfield firefighter was driving drunk when he hit five parked vehicles within a matter of minutes.
Michael Gillette faces multiple charges in two towns.
South Plainfield police told The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick the 48-year-old's SUV totaled three vehicles on Kenyon Avenue on Tuesday.
Authorities say they later determined the firefighter had earlier hit two other vehicles in Plainfield.
No one was injured in the crashes.
Gillette was treated for a gash to the head.
Police say Gillette will face additional charges including careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
