KEANSBURG — Authorities say a Thanksgiving Day brawl in central New Jersey left six people injured and 12 facing charges.

Keansburg police say the fight stemmed from an earlier altercation between two 18-year-old men.

Deputy Chief Michael Pigott says several members of one teen's family went to the other man's home around 6 p.m. Thursday and confronted him. A melee involving several people soon ensued, including one combatant who was armed with a carving knife and another who had metal knuckles.

Pigott said 24-year-old Richard LeComte Jr. was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and weapons offenses. His 45-year-old father, Richard LeComte Sr., and 21-year-old brother, Matthew LeComte, both Keansburg, were charged with rioting.

Eighteen-year-old Lamar Shabazz of Keansburg was being sought on charges of rioting and aggravated assault.
