NEWARK — A 50-year-old California man was injured during a fight among Jets fans at Newark Penn Station tonight, authorities said.
The dispute broke out aboard a westbound train from Secaucus around 6:45 p.m., said Dan Stessel, a spokesman for NJ Transit. Upon arriving at Newark Penn Station, the victim, who has not been identified, was struck at the back of his head on a track platform during a fight with two other men.
He then fell, his face hitting the train, Stessel said. He was taken to University Hospital and received stitches.
He said he could not recall the incident, Stessel said.
The other two men involved in the fight left the scene and have not been found, Stessel said. NJ Transit police are reviewing camera footage and the investigation is ongoing.
