Residents and business along Hulfish Street were asked to evacuate around 8 a.m., according to David Newton, manager of Palmer Square.
Police and canine units are on scene, and the bomb squad is on its way.
The bomb threat came over the phone, Newton said, and targeted residential units being built on the north side of the square.
“You just can’t be be too cautious,” Newton said.
