ROCHESTER, Pa. — State Police say a man driving a car with New Jersey plates traveled the wrong way on the Pennsylvania Turnpike for nearly 10 miles before troopers stopped his car by ramming it into a jersey barrier.
Lt. James McFadden says nobody was seriously injured — including the driver — who will face aggravated assault and other charges for causing "three or four crashes."
Police haven't yet released the name of the man who was driving eastward in the westbound lanes before he was stopped near mile marker 21 in Beaver County, about 20 miles west of Pittsburgh.
KDKA-TV interviewed the man as he sat handcuffed in the back of a patrol car. The man told a reporter, "Yeah, I'm fine. All good," before saying, "I have no clue" when asked what happened.
