ELIZABETH — A Connecticut man who allegedly shot a man to death in front of his mother has been apprehended in Elizabeth.
Authorities say U.S. marshals and New Haven police arrested 21-year-old Derek Bouknight in Elizabeth, on Friday.
Officials said Bouknight, of West Haven, was caught after a chase.
Bouknight was wanted for the Oct. 9 killing of 27-year-old William Baines while he stood outside his New Haven residence with his family.
The New Haven Register reported that authorities say they spotted Bouknight after weeks of surveillance when they saw him wearing a distinctive article of clothing he wore the day of the alleged killing.
Bouknight's family could not be reached for comment. A number for the family could not immediately be found today.
