PATERSON — A New Jersey man accused of raping five of his daughters and impregnating three is under cross-examination Thursday.
The man testified earlier that he loved his children and never harmed them. He said testimony from his former wife that he beat her and the children, and a daughter who said he raped her until she bore him a child, were "all lies."
The man, who has pleaded not guilty, is being questioned about alleged inconsistencies in his testimony.
The prosecution, challenging his prior claim he scored near 1500 on the SAT's, has produced a transcript showing otherwise.
The Associated Press doesn't identify victims of sexual crimes and is not reporting the names of the husband and wife to protect the identities of their children, now over 18.
