LITTLE EGG HAROR — The New Jersey woman accused of running down her husband remains held on $500,000 bail.
The Asbury Park Press reported Karen McNulty appeared in court Tuesday to hear that charges have been upgraded from aggravated assault to aggravated manslaughter in her husband's death.
Authorities said the 54-year-old was intoxicated when she struck her husband, John, two blocks from their Little Egg Harbor home during a domestic dispute early Friday.
The 73-year-old was heading to his job at Caesar's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Witnesses said McNulty passed him, made a U-turn and ran him over with the car. He died hours later.
It is not clear whether McNulty has retained a lawyer.
