Hammonton police and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle fire on a residential street shortly after 3:15 a.m. today.
After extinguishing the fire, they discovered charred human remains inside.
The victim has not been identified.
The vehicle was removed from the scene for further examination.
An autopsy on the victim was scheduled for today afternoon.
