TRENTON — A New Jersey appeals court panel has ruled that state regulators acted properly when they suspended a Clifton psychologist's license over her "inappropriately close" relationship with a patient.

The ruling issued today upheld a one-year suspension and fine the New Jersey State Board of Psychological Examiners gave behavioral therapist Samuelle Klein-Von Reiche last year.

The board found that Klein-Von Reiche misled them and withheld information regarding her relationship with the patient, identified only as a 53-year-old police officer.

It said Klein-Von Reiche accompanied the man to a convention in the Bahamas at his expense and shared his bed, although she and the patient maintain that there was no romantic or sexual activity during the trip.
